CAGE

The Commercial And Government Entity (CAGE) Code, formerly known as the Federal Supply Code for Manufacturers (FSCM), is a five-character unique identifying number used extensively within the federal government and assigned by the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The CAGE code is used to support a variety of mechanized systems throughout the federal government and provides a standardized method of identifying a given legal entity at a specific location. Further, CAGE Codes are assigned to government suppliers and defense contractors as a form of "ID number."

CAGE Codes are used internationally, as part of the NATO Codification System (NCS), where they are called NATO Commercial And Government Entity (NCAGE) Codes.
